On August 15,2020 we were able to provide the 2nd round basic food and other sanitary materials for 40 persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups. In this event Thank to Slovak Agency for International Development Cooperation (Slovak Aid) for the financial support in order to provide such important and timely support. In the event, Mr. Ján Petrla, Attaché/Head of Administration| Embassy of the Slovak Republic in Addis Ababa, attained the event and delivered a message as well as food and hygiene material to the beneficiaries.

Creation of awareness on substance abuse/drug addiction among young and prevention of COVID-19. ECYDO in collaboration with Redeem the generation and financial support of civil society support program II (CSSPII) undertake this wide-event in Addis Ababa.

ECYDO in collaboration with Finote Tehadiso Leakal Gudategnoch Mahiber and the financial assistance of the Czech Republic Embassy in Addis Ababa has implemented a project that focuses on the provision of material and psychological support for girls with visual impairment. As part of the project, ECYDO provided group and individual psychological support to the girls based on their needs. Thanks to the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Addis Ababa for funding.

ECYDO Executive Director had an interview with Ahadu FM 94.3, youth program Department. The focus of the interview was organizational interventions in general and the Youth Challenge Initiative III (YCI III) project in particular. YCI is a project that has been implemented in Addis Ababa and Adama city Administrations, with the objective of preventing young people from key sexual & reproductive problems. The project is funded by Packard Foundation through Youth Network for Sustainable Development. Thank you for Ahadu FM 94.3, youth program Department for the opportunity to share our experience!

ECYDO provided Sexual and Reproductive Health Right and life skill training for Youth Council members and other young people who came from two partner primary schools and Ethiopian Youth Sport Academy. Thank you for Packard Foundation/ YNSD for funding.

ECYDO has organized participatory video training from February 9-13, 2020 in collaboration with Redeem the generation funded by CSSPII. In order to capture evidence on the adverse effect of substance abuse and assess the availability of services and support young people suffering or recovering from Khat addiction.

Project Launching Workshop for Youth Leadership and Engagement Access for Development (Youth – LEAD) project supported by Civil Society Support Program II (CSSP-II) conducted at Beshalle Hotel in January 2020. The project has aim to prevent substance abuse among youth and promote meaningful youth participation on their concerns. Relevant stakeholder from sub-city and woreda level were participated in the workshop. Thanks to Civil Society Support Program II (CSSPII) for funding.

Induction session was conducted for the new coming ECYDO staff based on the Induction protocol of ECYDO. Our New staff – welcome to ECYDO!! We are very happy to joining us all the new staff and hopefully we will record remarkable achievements all together!!

Presentation on what went well and what was the challenge during the planning and learning as well as proposal development phases for the Girls Power Project funding by CRVPF. This is happened during Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning training held in Fairview Hotel Nairobi, Kenya starting February 04, 2020

It was a great pleasure to have Mr. Jaroslav Zukerstein, the Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia in our project activity. His Excellency, Mr. Jaroslav, participated in a training empowering teachers and staff from our partner organization to encourage and support girls with visual impairment in education and daily life. Mr. Jaroslav also talked to the girls about the benefits of the project and the psychological counselling they receive as part of it. We believe the project will enable the girls to develop their full potential and make a great contribution to the society in the future! We appreciate the great support of Embassy of the Czech Republic in Addis Ababa.
